Abducted indigenous girl traceless for 11 days in Bandarban

Two indigenous girls, abducted from remote Reju Headman Para of Bandarban’s Naikkhongchhari upazilla on the night of August 03, while one of them still remains traceless.

The victims were neighbor and aged around 12 and 14 years old were picked up by a gang from the yard of their house at around 10:00 pm said their relative and police.

“A group of six criminals led by one Md Russel of Fultoli area of the upazilla came with two motorcycles and picked up the two indigenous minor girls of our village on the night of August 03”, said Thoyain Chala Tanchangya, a local of the area.

“On the early hours of August 09, the criminals released one of the victim who is fourteen years old after gang rape at Moriccha Bazar area of the upazila”, said Thoaiyan Chala who is also relative of the victims.

Later we rescued her and admitted to local hospital, he said.

“My niece who is only twelve years old is still traceless. We want our daughter back. We have already filed case with Naikkhongchhari police station”, he lamented.

Police could not rescue the girl and arrest any of the gang members as of filing of this report at 4:00pm today.

“We are trying our best to rescue the victim and arrest the criminals who were involved with this abduction”, said Shaikat Shahin, superintendent of Bandarban police.
