Taposhee Tabassum Urmi, assistant commissioner of Bangladesh’s Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner’s Office, has been suspended following her Facebook post, “The countdown has begun for you, sir,” addressing Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.

On Saturday, Tapashee wrote on Facebook: “The chief adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government has said a reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking a reset button. So simple. The countdown has begun for you, sir.”

Mansur Hossain, public relations officer of the Ministry of Public Administration, said that Assistant Commissioner Tapashee Tabassum Urmi has been suspended after OSD. At the same time, the process of taking departmental action against her has been initiated.

Tapashee claimed her suspension was a result of a Facebook post she had made about Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

When journalist asked about the post, Tapashee said: “I shared the post on Facebook, which should be enough to explain. I had set it to ‘only me’ on Facebook. If I lose my job because of it, I will be fine with that. But what does pressing the reset button to delete the past mean? I believe forces against the Liberation War are present in the form of governance in our country.

“Our liberation war is settled fact. Father of our nation is Bangabandhu. These are all settled facts. What does it mean to erase all the past by pushing the reset button? So I think, the opposition force of the liberation war is now in the government” she told to media.

“The July massacre and other events require investigation, as they are not yet proven facts”, she added.
